Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an Immersive Design Project cost?

The first step in Immersive Design is your Consultation. The cost is $600-$800 and this is billed at the time of scheduling. After your Consultation, you will receive an estimate and an idea of what would make your outdoor space function best for you. This may be just enough to get started, or you may decide to have a CAD Design created for your Immersive Design  Project. The cost to develop your Immersive Landscape Design depends on your project scope and is based on an hourly rate of $200 per hour.

What does the Immersive Design Estimate include?

After your consultation, an estimate to create a CAD design for your project is available upon request. Your estimate details every step to complete your project vision based on your project scope. Deliverables may include Site Map and Site Analysis, Site Prep Plan, Hardscape CAD Plan,  Planting CAD Plan, and Plant Palette with Plant information. Client engagement may include arranging estimates with contractors, client design meetings, and onsite meetings with contractors. Essentially everything you need to make your Immersive Design Project come to life.

How long will my project take?

The Design phase of your project from Measurement to Final Draft generally takes six to eight weeks depending on the project scope. For example, a Hardscape CAD design coupled with a Planting CAD design generally takes longer than a Planting Design only. Having a survey of your property will save a lot of time measuring during the design process. Once the design is completed, your selected contractor will reach out with the time frame to complete your project.

When is the best time to get started on my project?

Whenever you want your outdoor space to work better for you. Ideally, the best time to begin is the season before you would like to see your results.  For example, if you have a Spring event I would start with a consultation in the Summer or early Fall. After your consultation, you will have plenty of time to look at your options and see what works best for you. You may decide you want to have a CAD Design drawn for your Immersive Design Project.  Or you may opt to move ahead on your Consultation notes. Don’t forget to allow 8-12 weeks if you want to engage a contractor. This will allow time have time to get on their schedule.

Why do I need a CAD Drawing for my Immersive Design Project?

Would you embark on a costly journey without a map? The Immersive  Design Process utilizes a to-scale CAD Design to keep the project on track and on budget. How? First, your CAD is your guide, functioning as a map to help your contractors stay on track with Site Prep, Hardscape, and  Planting design. Second, your CAD creates clarity by facilitating clear communication between you and your contractor. If a question arises, you can point to the original design intent and ask for clarity. The CAD design is a resource that ensures your project intent has integrity, saves time, and avoids costly redos.

How do I know if we are staying on track with my Immersive Design  Process?

Once you engage Immersive Design Services, you are given a guide to make sure your project stays on track and on budget until your design is completed.

What happens after my Immersive Design is completed?

After your final draft is approved, your CAD design is sent to licensed and insured contractors for estimates to complete your Immersive Design  Project. This may include hardscape contractors such as stone or brick masons, carpenters, lighting, irrigation professionals, and planting contractors. The CAD Design is to scale and will help them assess your project materials and goals accurately. Once you select your contractor, I  will meet them onsite to walk through the CAD Design together and answer any questions. These meetings are listed in your estimate and are part of your project scope. Once your design is completed, we will meet onsite to make sure you are thrilled with your Immersive Design transformation.

What if I need you to meet a contractor or add a meeting during my project?

During the installation phase of your project, you may desire some support.  If you need extra help with your contractor team or guidance during the process, please reach out to schedule additional services. Additional meetings are added upon client request at an hourly rate of $200.
